The Texas QSO party is sponsored each year by the Northwest Amateur Radio Society to encourage contacts between Texas amateur radio operators and amateur radio operators throughout the world. This event is also an excellent opportunity for county hunters to add to their list of Texas counties worked. One of the planning goals each year is to have operators in each of the 254 counties in Texas. This is the best - and in fact it may be the only - opportunity to make contact with operators in some Texas counties. For more information on operator density in Texas, see the Where are all the Hams website. TQP mobile operators, be careful and have a good time. Fixed station operators, get on the air and look for the mobiles! Regardless of how you like to participate, get on the air, make some contacts, and have fun! |

Contest Scoring |
Sunday, 27 September 2009 00:00 |
Following the 2007 contest, we received several inquiries about immediate posting of individual results. All participants are encouraged to submit their claimed scores and comments on the 3830 reflector immediately following the contest. IMPORTANT: You must also submit your logs to the Texas QSO Party as described in the rules in order for your score to count. There are several reasons for the decision to not offer immediate claimed score posting here: - Numerous posting and contest sites already offer this capability.
- Developing and maintaining the databases and submission support on the web server is prohibitively time-consuming.
- This contest is more about having fun, seeing Texas, and operating than it is about internet bells and whistles.

2010 Rules Update |
Sunday, 06 June 2010 18:09 |
For TQP 2010, the committee has decided to make some minor changes to the rules in the interest of making the contest more interesting for all participants. These changes include the following: - Three new phone-only categories:
- PHO SO — Phone Only Single Operator
- Texas operators
- Non-Texas operators
- TXM PHO SO — Texas Mobile Phone Only Single Operator
- Credit will not be given for captive QSOs. This rule applies to QSOs with other operators either in the same mobile vehicle or traveling along in other vehicles for purposes of working other mobiles in the group -- so called California Train or California Tandem operations.
For a complete copy of the rules, click the Rules link in the top menu bar or the main menu item on the left. Also, if you would like a printed or PDF copy of the rules, click the printer icon in the top right corner of the rules article. A new window containing only the rules page. Click the printer icon in the top right corner of that window, select any of your locally-connected printers, and print a copy. If you have a PDF printer installed, select that as your printer. You can also download a PDF copy if the rules here. |
