Final results for the 2008 Texas QSO Party are now available here. The 2008 party was well-attended with over 50,000 QSO records in the database from approximately 230 submitted logs. After each log was verified against this database, invalid or busted QSOs were removed, and the logs were rescored. Congratulations to the winners who emerged from this process. Plaques and certificates are on order and should be in the mail by the first week in March.
Thanks to everyone who participated and made the 2008 TQP a successful and fun event for all. Special thanks to the Texas stations and, in particular, the mobiles who enabled us to activate all but 8 of the 254 Texas counties. The results are available for download as a PDF.

Following the 2007 contest, we received several inquiries about immediate posting of individual results. All participants are encouraged to submit their claimed scores and comments on the 3830 reflector immediately following the contest. IMPORTANT: You must also submit your logs to the Texas QSO Party as described in the rules in order for your score to count. There are several reasons for the decision to not offer immediate claimed score posting here: - Numerous posting and contest sites already offer this capability.
- Developing and maintaining the databases and submission support on the web server is prohibitively time-consuming.
- This contest is more about having fun, seeing Texas, and operating than it is about internet bells and whistles.

The Texas QSO party is sponsored each year by the Northwest Amateur Radio Society to encourage contacts between Texas amateur radio operators and amateur radio operators throughout the world. This event is also an excellent opportunity for county hunters to add to their list of Texas counties worked. One of the planning goals each year is to have operators in each of the 254 counties in Texas. This is the best - and in fact it may be the only - opportunity to make contact with operators in some Texas counties. For more information on operator density in Texas, see the Where are all the Hams website. TQP mobile operators, be careful and have a good time. Fixed station operators, get on the air and look for the mobiles! Regardless of how you like to participate, get on the air, make some contacts, and have fun! |
